Chris G. Williams Beware: I mix tech and personal interests here.
We deal with a lot of shipping, outbound and incoming (mostly incoming.)

Between UPS, DHL and FedEx, we've had our share of issues.

Generally UPS is the easiest to deal with and has the friendliest drivers. It doesn't hurt that we give him free beverages whenever he delivers. (As a result, we have his personal cell phone so if we ever miss a delivery, we can call him up and meet him.)

DHL isn't bad either, and doesn't make you jump through a lot of hoops to schedule a pickup. We don't get a lot from them generally.

Fed Ex is a nightmare. They drop stuff off with anyone willing to take it, whether I authorized it or not. (I NEVER HAVE.) Also, scheduling pickups with FedEx has been a total pain. Today, for example, we called them 4 hours ago and we're still waiting for a call back. Not the pickup, mind you, just the call. Another of our packages arrived looking like it had been the victim of a mexican hat dance gone horribly wrong. They couldn't wait to get me off the phone and told me to take it up with the shipper.

If it weren't for the fact that Fed Ex delivers on Saturdays and UPS does not, I'd probably drop them altogether. Posted on Friday, February 16, 2007 12:55 PM | Back to top
