So the first day went really well, the lodge we stayed in was very old and cozy (in a good way) and very WARM.

We left the lodge around 10am (after getting a bit of work done) and walked to the building containing Alan's office and hung out with some of the students for a bit before going to lunch with them.  We got to see a bit more of the campus since we were walking everywhere. Very nice area and it was good to be back in this part of the country. (I grew up in Virginia, so this is *like* home.)

After lunch we did our session with some of his advanced students and gave away some Microsoft swag. They weren't a very talkative bunch (mostly) until they realized that asking questions resulted in swag, then we couldn't get them to stop.  :)

After the session was over, I had some more work to catch up on, but Andy was under no such restriction, so he hung out for a while longer and helped debug some of the student projects.  Great bunch of students.  St. Mary's is a very small school, but that helps quite a bit with the Professor : Student ratios.

Eventually we got together for dinner at Alan & Lindsay's house, along with some students. After dinner, we took turns playing Rock Band for a bit before heading back to the lodge.
