Recently, I blogged about
some of the changes I would make within the membership division if elected to the INETA Board of Directors. It's a terrific opportunity to do some good within an organization I believe in, and within the developer community as a whole.
While at the MVP Summit, I interviewed with the board members. Answering questions and presenting my thoughts on what areas need improvement.
So... this morning (a week later), when I received an email titled INETA Board Elections, I was pretty excited and a little nervous.
I'll spare you the entire email, but the end result was that I was not selected. I won't say who was, because I assume the board would prefer to make that announcement themselves on their own schedule.
It's a bummer, because I was really interested in the position, and because I feel INETA is sorely in need of some significant change and I didn't really get the impression that the changes I outlined were part of anyone else's plan. I do hope they take my suggestions to heart, even if I won't be included in the process.
Good luck INETA.
