BizTalk & Visual Studio Crash Error vsee\internal\inc\vscomptr.inl Line 473
Problem We have been experiencing the most annoying of IDE bugs recently when working on BizTalk applications. Basically the scenario is when you open a BizTalk map. If it is an existing map you get a prompt indicating the schema can not be loaded. If you try to pick the schema again from the map the schema picker just flickers then dissappears. From here the IDE becomes very unstable and you repeatedly get the following error: Unexpected error encountered. It is recommended that you restart the ......

Deploying BizTalk Assemblies with Visual Studio IDE in MsBuild
Problem In our build process we were using the IDE from the command line to build the solution with the /Deploy switch to deploy BizTalk assemblies to BizTalk. This was ok locally, but when we wanted to export the MSI to deploy to other environments the msi would install the BizTalk assemblies to the paths you had used during development. This didnt really break anything but the resulting deployment was just messy. Solution/Recommendation To build your solution in MsBuild when it contains BizTalk ......

Oracle DB Adapter and Transactions
Problem We were consuming a package in an Oracle Database using the Oracle DB adapter. When we called it we were getting an error about using rollback. We were not using a transaction on the port so not sure why this error was occuring. Solution After a little searching we found that the solution was that in the DSN on the work around tab there is an option for enabling MSDTC transaction. This needs to be unticked if you are calling a package/stored procedure which will commit or rollback a transaction. ......

Oracle DB Adapter Namespace
Problem In development everything worked fine, but when i deployed to system test I got an error when my orchestration made a call to the Oracle Db Adapter. The DSN on system test was to a different database and had a different name than in development. I had updated my bindings to reflect this but was getting an error that the DSN could not be found. Solution I forgot that the namespace on the schema for the call to the Oracle DB Adapter contains the name of the DSN in the namespace. When i changed ......

BizTalk Import MSI Binding problems
Problem The probem we had was when trying to import an msi to biztalk on our system test environment we got errors because the password for our send port using the oracle db adapter was not being bound properly. The process we were using was as follows: Our build would build the solution and deploy biztalk components to the application We would add resources to the application (such as binding files for each environment) We would apply the bindings to the application We would start the application ......

Mapping Gotchas
Just had a couple of little problems when working with a map. 1. VS Blowing up I was trying to add a new map and reference a schema from a seperate assembly. Each time I did this the i get a "Failed to load schema....." message then for some reason the schema selector wont open up any more. To make things worse after this the IDE starts to freak out a bit, it cant save things, you get these wierd error messages (i forgot to print screen one, will add later). I tried things like recreating the project, ......
